This policy is about cookies — sadly, not the crunchy kind. It explains the small files and browser-storage tools used by the Moonsong website, what they do and how you can keep them, reject them or send them offstage.
The quick chorus: we use a limited set of technical, functional and analytics technologies. We do not use advertising cookies, behavioural advertising or cross-site profiling.
1. Who Operates the Website
The website is operated by Jivalabs d.o.o., Šmarska Cesta 7c, 6000 Koper, Slovenia, registration number 8974632000, VAT number SI73478776.
Moonsong is the franchise brand, Moonsong Studio is the creative studio name, and Jivalabs Games is the publishing label of Jivalabs d.o.o. They are not separate legal entities.

2. What Cookies and Similar Technologies Are
Cookies are small text files stored by your browser. Websites may also use local storage and similar technologies that remember a preference, connect actions to one visit or help a form avoid repeating the same step.
Some are essential for a feature you request. Others, such as analytics cookies, are optional and should follow your consent choice where the law requires it.
3. The Categories We Use
Essential and consent-management technologies
These keep the website and cookie controls working. They may remember whether you accepted or rejected optional cookies so the banner does not ask for an encore on every page.
Functional form technologies
The embedded MailerLite form may use browser storage to display correctly, manage a form session and remember that a form was shown or submitted. These tools support the newsletter signup flow; they are not used by us to build advertising profiles.
Analytics cookies
With the appropriate consent, self-hosted Matomo may use first-party cookies to distinguish visits, link page views within a session and understand how visitors move through the site.
4. Matomo: Counting Beats, Not Following You Around
We use a self-hosted installation of Matomo. Analytics data stays under our control rather than being sent to Matomo as an external analytics provider.
Matomo helps us understand page visits, visit duration, referral sources, device and browser information, approximate location and the sequence of actions within one pseudonymous visit.
Our setup uses IP anonymisation, disables cross-device tracking and respects browser “Do Not Track” signals. We do not intentionally attach analytics to a named person or account.
The Matomo script is loaded as part of the website. Analytics cookies must follow the choice recorded through the consent banner. You can reject analytics, later withdraw consent and reopen the cookie settings.

5. MailerLite: Remembering That the Form Did Its Job
We use an embedded MailerLite form to collect newsletter subscriptions. The form asks only for an email address and uses double opt-in.
MailerLite forms may use cookies or local storage to manage the form session, remember that the form was shown and avoid treating the same submission as brand-new every time.

Newsletter open and click measurement happens in the emails themselves and is not normally a website cookie. It is explained in our Privacy Policy.
6. Cookie and Storage List
The exact suffixes and duration may vary by configuration, browser and service updates. The following are the technologies expected from our current setup.

We do not use Matomo heatmaps, cross-device identifiers, advertising cookies or A/B testing cookies as part of the setup described in this policy.
7. Your Consent Controls
When you first visit, the cookie banner lets you accept or reject non-essential cookies. It records your choice so the site can follow it.
You can later change your mind going to Cookies Settings page. Rejecting analytics cookies should not prevent you from reading the website. Some functional form behaviour may be limited if the browser blocks storage needed by the embedded subscription form.
8. Browser Controls and Do Not Track
Most browsers allow you to inspect, delete or block cookies and local storage. Blocking everything may also block useful functions, because browsers are very obedient and not especially gifted at nuance.
Matomo is configured to respect enabled “Do Not Track” browser signals.
9. No Advertising or Profiling Cookies
No advertising cookies.
No behavioural advertising.
No cross-site profiling.
We want to know whether the website keeps time, not what you had for breakfast on another domain.
10. Changes to This Policy
Cookie names, durations and service behaviour can change when browsers or providers update their tools. We will update this page when the set list changes in a meaningful way.
